In the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, voting is underway for 121 seats across 18 districts on Thursday. Over three crore voters are casting their votes to elect their representatives. The fate of several prominent leaders is being sealed in the EVMs today. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, along with his wife, cast his vote at booth number 321 in Karnpura of Hajipur Assembly.

'Tej Pratap Yadav is a good person but...'

Nityanand Rai, while casting his vote, asserted that the BJP would form a government with an overwhelming majority with Nitish Kumar at the helm as Chief Minister. He claimed that Tejashwi Yadav would lose from Raghopur. Rai remarked, 'Tej Pratap Yadav is a good person, a devotee of God, but the NDA candidate will win from Mahua.'

JD(U) candidate Anant Singh from Mokama is currently in jail facing charges over his opponent's murder. Conversely, RJD candidate Osama Shahab, the son of late Mohammad Shahabuddin, is contesting from Raghunathpur. The second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections will be held on November 11, with results announced on November 14.
