The esteemed head of Bageshwar Dham and renowned storyteller, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri, has taken a firm stand against the alleged conversion activities led by Changur Baba. He has advised the Hindu community to remain vigilant. Reacting to the situation, he stated that Changur Baba exploited religion to victimize numerous women, engaged in vile deeds, and converted nearly 3000 Hindus.
During his discourse, Dhirendra Shastri commented on Changur Baba, saying that he misused religion to exploit women and corrupt minds. He noted the troubling fact that approximately 3000 Hindus were forced away from their faith.
Warning the Hindu community, Dhirendra Shastri proclaimed, 'While India is currently engulfed in a wave of spiritual gurus, our issue is not with the gurus themselves, but with individuals who choose such paths.'
Avoid False Prophets
He passionately urged people to avoid embracing misguided individuals who promote the wrong traditions, cultures, and ideologies, corrupting the youth. 'The greatest loss will be borne by our Hindu religion, our values, and our rich cultural heritage.'
Unity is Essential for Protection
Encouraging Hindus to resist misguided spiritual leaders, Shastri emphasized, 'We have always stated that trust should never be compromised. Avoid distractions from false prophets and instead, align your beliefs with the true essence of your spirituality.'
He strongly insists on the necessity of staying united and following the righteous path for the protection of Hinduism, reflecting his commitment to the faith and his earnest desire to guide society in the right direction.
It must be noted that the Uttar Pradesh police recently unveiled the illicit activities of Changur Baba. He has been arrested for serious allegations of conversion and exploitation of women. Investigations revealed that Changur Baba ran a systematic network for religious conversion. He had set different conversion prices based on caste, such as 1.5-1.6 million rupees for Brahmin, Kshatriya, or Sikh girls, 1-1.2 million for backward castes, and 800,000-1 million for others.
Cases against Changur Baba and his accomplices include fraud, criminal conspiracy, and illegal conversions.
