Ballia Murder: Woman Dismembers Husband Amid Love Affair, Search for Head Continues

In a chilling incident in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, a 50-year-old woman allegedly conspired with her lover to murder her husband and dismembered his body into six pieces, discarding them across the Sikanderpur area. While the police have recovered most body parts, the head remains missing, rumored to have been thrown into the Ghaghra River. Authorities are relentless in their search.

As of now, four suspects, including the deceased Rajendra Kumar's wife Maya Devi, her lover Anil Yadav, and two accomplices, are in police custody. During the arrest, there was an encounter which led to one suspect sustaining a leg injury.

According to Ballia police, on May 10, a dismembered body was found in a village under Sikanderpur police jurisdiction. The subsequent day, a torso was discovered in a nearby well. The victim was identified as Rajendra Kumar. Suspicions initially pointed towards Maya Devi and her lover Anil Yadav due to their close association.

The duo tried misleading the police but eventually confessed when confronted with call records and evidence. Following the confession, police escalated their search for other involved suspects, apprehending Satish Yadav and Mithilesh after another encounter.

The police have detained four suspects, including the deceased Rajendra Kumar's wife, Maya Devi, her lover Anil Yadav, and two accomplices. During the arrest, one suspect was shot in the leg.

Disclosing the sequence of events, SP Omveer Singh revealed that on May 10,

filed a complaint at the Ballia police station about her missing husband Devendra Kumar, a retired Army BRO officer. His phone was unreachable as it had been switched off. He reportedly went to pick up his daughter at Bihar’s Buxar railway station, and thus began a missing person’s investigation.

Amidst the inquiry, a severed limb was discovered in the Khareed village under Sikanderpur police, and by May 12, a torso found nearby led the police to identify it as Devendra Kumar's body, although the head was missing. The authorities remain determined to recover the head.

Upon identifying the body, interrogations turned to Maya Devi, who initially gave evasive answers. Suspicions solidified, leading to the arrest of Maya and Anil, which subsequently revealed the gruesome murder plot. The accused disclosed the head had been thrown into the Ghaghra River, prompting the police to employ divers for its retrieval.
