Former Chairperson of the Delhi Women's Commission and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member, Swati Maliwal, aimed sharp criticism at Atishi, the outgoing Chief Minister of Delhi, celebrating victory despite the party's election loss. Sharing a video of Atishi on social media platform X, Maliwal remarked, 'What a shameless display! The party lost, key leaders were defeated, and yet Atishi Marlena is rejoicing like this?'
Atishi, who emerged victorious against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri with a margin of 3,521 votes for the Kalkaji assembly seat, is seen dancing with her supporters in the video. She was among the few select AAP ministers and senior leaders who secured wins in the election, even as prominent figures like AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Somnath Bharti, and Rakhi Bidlan faced defeat.

AAP loses in Delhi, Atishi celebrates
In a conversation with Aaj Tak, Swati Maliwal expressed, 'Atishi should feel ashamed. AAP is out of power in Delhi. With top leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia losing, what was Atishi celebrating—the defeat of AAP? Was it the loss of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia that she celebrated?' Addressing the topic of campaigning against AAP in Delhi, Maliwal stated, 'The people were angry. Delhi has turned into a trash heap. I campaigned for no party. While Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi conduct pressers from their AC rooms, I am out working in the field.'

Aam Aadmi Party is not Kejriwal’s estate
When asked if she was pleased with AAP’s defeat in Delhi, Swati Maliwal responded, 'I am emotional because they called me a liar. They used their power to target me. God has punished them for this violence against a woman.' On being questioned why she hasn’t resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party, she retorted, 'I have given 12 years to AAP; the party doesn’t belong to Arvind Kejriwal alone.'

BJP to present CAG report in Delhi Assembly
Swati Maliwal highlighted that although Arvind Kejriwal used to talk about Jan Lokpal, the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) report hasn’t been tabled in the Delhi Assembly since 2016. She urged, 'I appeal to the new government to bring the CAG report to the house.' Notably, in the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP secured a whopping 48 seats, obtaining a clear majority, while AAP was reduced to 22 seats. Congress once again failed to open its account for the third consecutive time.
