The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday accused the authorities of a deadly conspiracy against Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar Jail, where despite being diabetic, he is reportedly being denied insulin injections. Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj, during a press conference, stated, 'This issue has captured not just national attention, but international media is also observing how the central government could plot to assassinate an elected Chief Minister. The warden of Tihar Jail has recently requested AIIMS for a diabetologist, which starkly exposes the BJP's hypocrisy. They (Tihar Jail administration) were claiming yesterday that we have all the necessary specialists and available insulin. Arvind Kejriwal is being falsely accused.'
Bhardwaj asserts, 'There is only a general doctor in the prison. I'm unclear about the nature of his appointment, but based on his recommendations, these manipulations are taking place, depriving the people-elected Chief Minister of insulin. Mr. Kejriwal argues that he has been diabetic for 20 years and has been on insulin for the last 12 years, relying on a daily dosage of 50 units to manage his condition. He requires this medication even in jail, but it is not being provided. He has also requested for permission to consult his doctor via video call if insulin cannot be administered, which the Tihar Jail administration has outright denied.'

Bhardwaj mentions, 'Tihar Jail falls under the central government's jurisdiction. The administration there is proclaiming that Arvind Kejriwal does not require insulin. No need to consult a doctor. When the need for insulin arises, they will provide it. They asserted yesterday that we have all the specialists on hand. The jail has its hospital, clinics, beds, and insulin. They are all present. Kejriwal is lying. Yet, the jail administration sent a letter to Delhi AIIMS yesterday, requesting a diabetes specialist. If someone is severely diabetic, they usually carry something sweet or candy with them, as their sugar level can drop suddenly. In custody, Arvind Kejriwal's blood sugar once plummeted to 46, and yet he isn't receiving the necessary medication.'
Delhi's LG debunks Kejriwal's health claims made by AAP
Prior on Saturday, a statement from the office of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, refuted the AAP's claims regarding Kejriwal's diabetes condition. According to the statement, 'The story being fabricated by the Aam Aadmi Party concerning Mr. Kejriwal's health is based on the treatment from a private clinic in Telangana. Kejriwal was on insulin reversal, and his doctor had stopped the insulin dosage well before his arrest. He was taking the anti-diabetic tablet Metformin. According to a report from RML Hospital, Kejriwal had neither been advised to take insulin nor was there any requirement specified. It is incorrect to state that at any point during his treatment, the Tihar Jail administration had refused to provide Arvind Kejriwal with insulin.'
