An FIR has been registered against Amit Malviya, the BJP IT cell head in West Bengal. Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya of the Mamata government filed the complaint on Saturday. Malviya is accused of making 'objectionable' comments against CM Mamata and, by doing so, allegedly insulting women.
TMC leader filed a complaint at the Gariahat police station in Kolkata. It is alleged that Amit Malviya in his controversial post last Friday at 4:17 PM claimed that Mamata made derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a rally.
Chandrima Bhattacharya stated in her complaint that the BJP leader is deliberately trying to tarnish the image of the Chief Minister. Chandrima wrote, "The accused (Amit) claimed in his post that the Chief Minister had used unparliamentary and incorrect words in her speech. This is completely false and a deliberate attempt to damage her image."
The TMC Minister shared a screenshot of Amit Malviya's post in her complaint. She also alleged that this post was created with the intent to cause unrest and hate within society and to disrupt peace. According to the reports, Kolkata police have registered a case under IPC sections 500/504/509 in this matter.
