In the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Ajit Pawar's NCP has unveiled its list of candidates. Stepping into the political fray with 30 candidates, the party has decided to contest alone. Notably, NCP has fielded candidates for significant seats including New Delhi, Kalkaji, and Karawal Nagar. From the New Delhi constituency, Vishwanath Aggarwal is contesting, Jameel from Kalkaji, and Sanjay Mishra from Karawal Nagar.

Ajit Pawar's faction within the NCP is an ally of the BJP-led government in Maharashtra, where he serves as Deputy Chief Minister. However, in a strategic move, Pawar has decided not to ally with BJP in Delhi. This decision might be seen as an attempt to establish NCP's presence in Delhi, a political arena dominated by the Aam Aadmi Party, BJP, and Congress, making it a likely triangular contest.

This election marks the first contest for the Ajit Pawar faction in Delhi following the split in July 2023 from Sharad Pawar's faction.
