The pre-election phase in Delhi is rife with allegations and counter-allegations. Amidst this, former Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has taken aim at both the BJP and the Election Commission (EC).
Arvind Kejriwal stated, 'The Election Commission has surrendered to the BJP. It seems like the EC has no existence. AAP supporters and the general public faced open attacks while the Delhi police stood by idly.'
What Position Was Offered: Kejriwal
Kejriwal further remarked, 'People are rightfully questioning what post-retirement role has been offered to Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, who is set to retire by month-end. What lucrative position could possibly make him mortgage the country’s interests? Is it the position of Governor or President?'
'Police Unable to Take Action'
Addressing the Delhi Election Commission, the AAP leader implored, 'What legal provision states that when a crime happens next to parked police vehicles, they can't act? These are sheer excuses.'
'Detained Throughout the Night at the Station'
Arvind Kejriwal continued, 'Who is this thug before whom the Delhi Police trembles? In an unprecedented move, media personnel faced attacks amidst elections. In Delhi, assaults were reported on 7 journalists. They were detained overnight while the attackers were let loose.'
'Incident Occurred Just a Kilometer Away from the EC Office'
He emphasized, 'This isn't some remote village incident; it happened a kilometer away from both the Parliament and Supreme Court. A mere kilometer away from the Election Commission office.'
