Recall the Lord’s Test match where Rishabh Pant seemed in great form, confidently playing at 74 runs. But in a bid to steal a run, he got run out, impacting India's chance of surpassing England's 387. It ended with India matching that score.

Captain Shubman Gill expressed that had Pant not been run-out, India might have gained a lead of 70–80 runs, avoiding chasing 200 on a challenging fifth-day pitch. Pant's presence is influential; an hour on the field, and he shifts the game.

During the Test's first day, Pant attempted a reverse sweep against fast bowler Chris Woakes and was struck on the right foot, necessitating retirement from the field for scans. At that juncture, Pant had scored 37 runs from 48 balls, after initially receiving medical treatment on-field. He was transported off-field via a golf cart as blood and swelling were evident.
