The Indian government's Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued guidelines for all companies. According to the guidelines, smartphones sold in India should have cyber safety apps like Sanchar Saathi installed. Apple wants to engage in a discussion with the government regarding these guidelines and is not in favor of complying with this decision. This information was reported by Reuters.

Reuters' report mentioned that Apple does not plan to adhere to these government directives. The company will communicate this to the central government. Following this directive, many have raised concerns regarding privacy implications.

The Department of Telecommunications has posted that users have the option to delete the Sanchar Saathi app whenever they wish. Keeping the app is up to the mobile users' preference.
