The Mumbai police are in action mode regarding the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. They have detained a suspect from Madhya Pradesh for questioning. However, senior Mumbai police IPS officers clarified that the individual being interrogated in MP is not connected to the Saif Ali Khan case.
It's noteworthy that the police have not denied reports of questioning the suspect in Madhya Pradesh. Alongside MP, Mumbai police teams are investigating in other states too. Earlier, on Friday, January 17th, police took another suspect into custody for questioning, but it was later confirmed that the suspect had no links to the case.
To catch the perpetrator, Mumbai police have deployed more than 35 teams. According to Mumbai police, the suspect involved in the attack was last seen between Bandra police station and railway station. The individual was reportedly loitering in the Bandra area until 8 AM the morning following the attack, but has not been apprehended yet.
As reported by PTI, officials from Mumbai police's Crime Branch have collected CCTV footage from a mobile shop in Dadar, where the suspect reportedly purchased earphones following the attack on Saif Ali Khan. The individual visited a shop named "Ikra." Hassan, who works at the store, recounted, "The suspect came to my shop and bought earphones for 50 rupees. He handed me 100 rupees, I gave him back 50 rupees, and he left. Some police officers visited the shop yesterday (Friday) to retrieve CCTV footage and inquired about the suspect. I had no idea about his involvement."
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan's wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, told the police that during the scuffle, the attacker became quite aggressive, yet refrained from taking any visible jewelry. Kareena stated that the intruder entered their apartment on the 12th floor of Satguru Sharan Building and attacked Saif. Saif was stabbed at multiple sites, including the neck. Subsequently, he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for emergency surgery.
