CBSE Class 10th English Paper 2025 Marking Scheme:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations are scheduled for February-March 2025. Students of classes 10 and 12 will start their board exams from February 15. The official date sheet and timetable are available on the CBSE website, cbse.gov.in (CBSE Datesheet & Time Table 2025), and the exams will begin at 10:30 AM. It is crucial to understand the marking scheme before the board exams, enabling students to create an effective study plan.

In fact, the CBSE 10th board exams will be conducted from February 15 to March 18, 2025. Today, we present the section-wise marking scheme for the CBSE 10th Board Exam 2025 English paper. 1. Section A: Reading (20 Marks)

Full marks for each correct answer. No negative marking. Step-wise marks for correct word limit and accurate answers.

2. Section B: Writing and Grammar (20 Marks)
(a) Writing (10 Marks)

Formal Letter/Email/Paragraph Writing: Weightage - 5 marks.

Marking Scheme:

Content: 2 marks.Language and Grammar: 2 marks.Format: 1 mark.

Creative Writing (Story Writing): 5 marks

(b) Grammar: (10 Marks)

Question Types: Gap filling, Editing, and Dialogue Completion.1 mark for each correct answer.

3. Section C: Literature (40 Marks)
(a) Short Answer Questions

Weightage: 2x4 = 8 marks.From the textbook (First Flight) and supplementary reader (Footprints Without Feet).Answer length: 30-40 words.Marks based on content and accuracy.

Text-based questions: 8 marks.Questions from the textbook: 100-120 words.Content: 5 marks.Organization and Grammar: 3 marks.Theme-based questions: 6 marks.Focused on the main ideas and themes described in the text: 80-100 words.

(c) Extract Based Questions on Poems

Weightage: 8 marks.Based on understanding and interpreting extracts from poems.General marking guidelines require clarity and logical sequence in answer writing.Word limit: Marks may be deducted for exceeding or falling short of the word limit.Grammar and Spelling: Pay attention to correct grammar and spelling.Textbook Content: Only answers based on curriculum content will be accepted.

CBSE Board Exam 2025 Guidelines: Essential Instructions

Here are important guidelines issued by the examination controller Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj:- 75% attendance is mandatory to sit for the exams.- No student will be allowed to take the exams without an admit card.- Ample gap between two subjects has been provided so that students have adequate time for preparation.

- Timetable for Class 12 considers entrance exams, allowing students to prepare well for both exams.- Teachers from all subjects won’t be away from school simultaneously during evaluations.- Timetable prepared considering over 40,000 subject combinations ensuring no student has two subjects on the same day.- It's mandatory to score at least 33% in each subject and in total.
