Sam Ayub hasn't been able to score any runs in the Asia Cup, but his crafty spin has secured him 6 wickets. Pakistani fans are actively discussing Ayub's form, and now former team captain Rashid Latif has come to Ayub's defense.

Rashid Latif believes that this is just a rough patch for Ayub, which will soon pass. He mentioned to Revsportz, 'Sometimes it happens, like when someone’s camel gets bitten by a dog. This too shall pass.'

Everyone faces tough times: Latif Latif mentioned, 'It's just bad timing; he got out like that, got caught here and there. Everyone has a bad spell. He'll shine in a big match, or maybe explode with runs.'

Sam Ayub, the left-handed batsman, was sent back to the pavilion by Oman's pacer Faisal Shah, following a slightly bouncy delivery in his first match. Against India, Ayub got dismissed by offering a catch to Jasprit Bumrah off all-rounder Hardik Pandya's ball. In the UAE match, fast bowler Junaid Siddiqui caught him at third man.

Witness Hardik Pandya's stunning outswing, claiming Ayub's wicket on the first ball. Ayub could only watch.

In the Asia Cup 2025, the Pakistani team emerged as the second team to reach the Super Four from Group A. They defeated the United Arab Emirates by 41 runs in their last group match. The Indian team had already reached the Super Four from Group A. A thrilling clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled for September 21 in the Super Four stage.

Despite a challenging tournament, Ayub remains optimistic and committed to improve his game.
