On Tuesday, as the young woman's parents traveled to Meerut for an eye appointment, she informed her boyfriend via phone. Consequently, the young man, accompanied by friends, arrived at her residence that night.

Alert neighbors caught the young man in the act, exposing the affair. Meanwhile, his friends fled. Neighbors notified the girl’s parents, prompting their return to the village.
