With just a short time until the Delhi elections, political parties are fervently ramping up their preparations. In this spirit, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a public rally supporting BJP candidate Bajrang Shukla in the Kirari Assembly. He took aim at the Aam Aadmi Party government and Arvind Kejriwal by highlighting the grand Mahakumbh in UP's Prayagraj.
Yogi Adityanath criticized the Delhi government on the issue of the Yamuna, stating, 'You might have seen that I, along with 54 ministers, took a holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj. As a chief minister, if I and my ministers can do so, I ask AAP's leader Arvind Kejriwal, will you and your ministers do the same in the Yamuna? They have turned the Yamuna into a dirty drain. In contrast, Prayagraj boasts the pure and flowing Ganges waters.'
He further commented on Delhi’s infrastructure, questioning whether there are roads between potholes or potholes between roads, alleging that AAP has done nothing substantial for development. 'Instead of addressing basic public needs, all they do is tweet or hold press conferences to mislead citizens. AAP is distributing Aadhaar cards to infiltrators and settling Rohingyas in Delhi.'
The UP CM remarked on the state of Delhi outside the NDMC area, harking back to a time when Delhi was synonymous with exceptional facilities like Metro, roads, and health services. 'Now, look at Noida’s roads. Delhi is drowning in garbage, with sewers flooding streets. We too had to traverse these roads. The plight of Yamuna affects the people of Mathura and Vrindavan as well. Now, people look up to Uttar Pradesh as a model of development. Although industries were promised for the Okhla area, they have instead settled Bangladeshis.'
