In a spectacular breakthrough in Mathura, UP, the police achieved a major success last night. During a routine check, they stopped an SUV and discovered an astonishing over 12 kg of gold jewelry hidden inside. The market value of this dazzling discovery is estimated to exceed Rs 8 crore. Currently, two individuals traveling in the car have been detained by the police for inquiry.

Reportedly, the operation unfolded in the Mant area of Mathura, where close to the Yamuna Expressway toll booth, police seized 12.5 kg of gold jewelry from an SUV. According to a police officer, the luxury vehicle, an Endeavor, was stopped and then searched thoroughly at the Mant Toll Plaza.

During the search, 12.5 kg of gold jewelry was recovered from the occupants, valued at more than Rs 8 crore. The news of such a substantial haul quickly reached higher police officials, who rushed to the scene to question the car's occupants about the origins of the gold. However, the individuals could not provide satisfactory answers.

Consequently, the police have notified the GST Department about the incident. Investigations are actively underway. SP Trigun Vishan noted, "During our check, a luxury vehicle was found carrying 12.5 kg of gold jewelry." The GST and Income Tax departments have been informed, and the two individuals in the car remain in police custody.

This significant bust occurred on Monday night on the Yamuna Expressway when Mathura police were collaborating with the excise team to investigate liquor smuggling. Amid this operation, a suspicious vehicle from Noida was halted and checked. The examination revealed dubious packages, which, upon opening, unveiled gold ornaments, leaving the officials on-site astonished.
