A shocking case of domestic violence has emerged from Banda, Uttar Pradesh, where a wife attacked her husband in a demand for divorce. Upon the husband's refusal, the dispute escalated into a brutal beating with the wife's father, brother, and sisters-in-law. They went as far as locking him in his room.
The victim, Pradeep Singh, has lodged a complaint which led the police to book 10 people under serious charges. The incident took place in Swaraj Colony. Pradeep married in December 2021, and his wife left for her parents' home, taking jewelry and cash, just 11 days later, under some pretext and refused to return post several attempts.

The wife returned with her family, demanding her belongings and a divorce, to which Pradeep suggested settling the matter in court. This further infuriated his wife who, together with her family, viciously attacked him, leaving him severely injured. They then threatened his life and fled after locking the house. Pradeep managed to inform his parents and sought police intervention against his in-laws.
Police file case against 10 individuals, including wife, post complaint
The SHO of Kotwali Nagar, Anoop Dubey, has confirmed that on the basis of Pradeep's written complaint of assault, a serious case has been filed, and an in-depth investigation is underway.
