Virat Kohli Talks IPL Trophy Dreams for 2024:

Star batsman Virat Kohli is set to make a splash in the IPL. After a strategic rest from the recent Test series against England, Kohli is hopeful to emulate the success of RCB's women's team, led by Smriti Mandhana, in the upcoming WPL 2024 with a stunning performance from the men's team this year.

Kohli expressed his desire to replicate RCB Women's WPL victory and win the IPL Trophy. He emphasized his longing to feel the triumph of winning the IPL Trophy and clarified his unwavering loyalty to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. These sentiments were shared at the RCB Unbox Event on Tuesday.

It's noteworthy that RCB’s women's team clinched the WPL title by defeating Delhi Capitals on Sunday, while the men's team has been waiting 16 years for that winning moment. This season, South African batsman Faf du Plessis will lead RCB.

Before the opening clash with Chennai on March 22, Kohli added, 'As everyone knows, I will always be here, striving to be part of the group that wins it (the IPL) for the first time... I will give my best for the fans, the franchise... It's also been a long-standing dream of mine to know what winning the IPL feels like.'

Kohli's 17th IPL Season

Virat Kohli will be playing his 17th season with RCB in the IPL 2024. He has been with the Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2008, yet the team has not secured the IPL title. Over a total of 237 IPL matches, Kohli has scored 7263 runs with an average of 37.25 and a strike rate of 130.02. He also has 4 IPL wickets to his name.

RCB's Name and Jersey Take a New Turn in 2024 IPL

In celebration of the city's heritage, RCB has officially changed its name from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The new jersey for the team was launched during the RCB Unbox Event. Moreover, during an event held on March 19, former Indian, Karnataka, and RCB fast bowler R Vinay Kumar was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame, with captains Faf du Plessis and Smriti Mandhana in attendance. The men's team players gave a guard of honor to the RCB women's team. The Bangalore team has already arrived in Chennai for their first match.
