Sometimes, being too clever can backfire. This was the case for thief Radhe Yadav and his cousin Jitendra Yadav. In the bustling Brahmanal locality of Varanasi's Chowk area, where they worked at Purushottam Das Agarwal's shop, they seized the opportunity on December 23rd to steal 50,000 rupees. To hide their tracks, they cleverly set a fire in the store. However, one mistake led to their capture.

Radhe Yadav, in a bold move, created a social media reel while counting the stolen ₹50,000 in style, blowing a flying kiss. The police traced the video and tracked him down to his residence in Chandauli in Mughalsarai, where he was apprehended. Meanwhile, his cousin from Cholapur, Varanasi, Jitendra Yadav, managed to evade capture.

Revealing the details, Atul Anjan Tripathi, ACP Dashashwamedh, explained that during interrogation, Radhe Yadav confessed to executing the theft and arson with his cousin Jitendra. They both admitted to working at the shop and, after committing the theft, ignited the fire using matches before fleeing the scene.

The police recovered 34,000 rupees in cash and a blue Narzo mobile phone from the accused. Jitendra Yadav, the second accused and a resident of Cholapur Varanasi, remains at large, with the police actively searching for him. The ACP further detailed that an FIR has been filed, and Radhe has been sent to court. Legal proceedings in the case are ongoing.
