A Case Like Sambhal Surfaces in Varanasi: 250-Year-Old Temple Found Shut for a Decade

In Varanasi, a scenario similar to Sambhal has emerged. The claim states a 250-year-old temple in a Muslim-majority area has been closed for 10 years. A letter demanding its reopening has led to significant police presence.

The issue of a Shiva temple closed for 46 years in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, is still in discussion when a similar case surfaces from Varanasi. It is claimed that a Shiva temple in a Muslim-majority area has been shut for a decade. Following a letter submitted to the police administration for its reopening, a police force has been deployed.

The temple is said to be in the Muslim-dominated area Madanpura, which falls under the Dashashwamedh police station area. After images of the closed 'temple' went viral on social media, the Sanatan Rakshak Dal submitted a petition to the police, demanding the temple's reopening.

Letter demands reopening of the temple

The temple is reportedly located near the platform of house number D-31 in Madanpura, with a lock hanging for the past decade. Several posts about it went viral on social media. Subsequently, Ajay Sharma, state president of Sanatan Rakshak Dal, wrote a letter to the police demanding to unlock the temple.

Claim of soil filled inside the temple

Upon receiving the letter regarding the temple, a police team reached the spot, and following investigation, the police force has been deployed. It is claimed to be around 250 years old, but has been shut with a lock for the past decade. There is a claim that the temple is filled with soil inside.

Efforts to determine ownership begin

It is also claimed that this temple is mentioned in Kashi Khand. The temple is named Siddhishwar, a southern part of Pushpadanteshwar, closely located to a sacred well Siddha Tirtha Koop. However, police investigations have yet to determine the temple's ownership or who locked it. The period when the lock was placed is also under investigation.
