The Uttarakhand Police have filed cases against four individuals for posting incendiary content on Facebook related to the Dharali disaster. The police stated that the intention behind these posts was to create animosity among various communities. Four FIRs have been registered concerning this matter as of Friday, according to Sub-Inspector Vicky Tamta on Saturday.
Allegedly, a person posted two images on their Facebook account, showing the village of Dharali before and after the flood, captioned – "Dharali Village Disaster... Nature’s Bulldozer".
In response, other accused individuals posted comments that provoked religious sentiments. Tamta stated that efforts to apprehend the accused are underway.
SSP Ajay Singh from Dehradun has warned that strict action will be taken against those spreading false information or posting misleading content on social media regarding the Dharali disaster without verification.
Ongoing Relief and Rescue Operations
The relief and rescue operations continue five days after the disaster in Dharali. Teams from the army, ITBP, NDRF, SDRF, and local administration remain dedicated to providing aid. So far, over 700 individuals have been relocated to safety.

The BRO and other organizations are engaged in reconstructing the road between Dharali and Harsil to expedite the rescue operations. However, power supply restoration is still pending.
Support for the Affected
The Dhami government of Uttarakhand has announced compensation for those impacted by the disaster. Families of the deceased will receive five lakh rupees each, and assistance will be provided for rehabilitation efforts.
