Congress legislator and Deputy Leader of Opposition Bhuvan Kapri articulated his dissent against the inhumane treatment of illegal immigrants in the USA through an extraordinary display, adorning shackles on both hands and feet while directing criticism towards the central government.

Recent visuals and videos surfaced showing Indian unlawful immigrants being transported from the USA back to India. In these, Indian citizens were observed restrained in shackles. Reacting vigorously, Congress MLA Bhuvan Kapri staged a protest within the Uttarakhand Assembly premises, shackled hands symbolizing his stand against this treatment.

Bhuvan Kapri declared it shameful that our fellow countrymen faced such binding shackles in America. He asserted that the Indian government should have issued a stern response. If repatriation was necessary, it should have been through our vessels, not foreign ones. This was a direct affront to our national sovereignty, something we must reject.
