The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday gave the green light to a proposal to provide monthly remuneration between 16,000 to 20,000 rupees to outsourced employees across various departments and institutions. This proposal also includes enhancing the service conditions of outsourced employees and increasing reservation in such appointments.

The management of services for outsourced employees in government departments and institutions is conducted through the Uttar Pradesh Outsourcing Corporation, established under Article 8 of the Companies Act-2013 as a non-financial, non-profit public company.

State Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, briefing the media about the decisions taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, disclosed that the improvement of service conditions for outsourced employees has been approved.

He mentioned that the corporation will select service providers through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal. Outsourced employees will be appointed for 26 working days per month and will receive their remuneration between the 1st and 5th of each month, with a contract duration of three years.

Khanna stated that in the event of an employee's death during service, 15,000 rupees will be provided for funeral expenses. He also mentioned that reservation will apply to outsourcing-based appointments for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, ex-servicemen, dependents of freedom fighters, differently-abled individuals, and women.

Suresh Khanna said, "Previously, the amount given as remuneration or salary was deposited into the service provider's account, leading to complaints of employees not receiving full wages."

He further added, "The government's aim is to ensure that outsourced employees receive respectable wages, improved service conditions, and benefits of reservation."
