In an effort to promote the registration of rent agreements in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has taken a major step by providing up to a 90% discount on rental and lease agreements. Now, rental agreements up to 10 years will enjoy a 90% discount. The Cabinet made this decision to prevent the misuse of stamp papers ranging from 10 to 100 rupees for 11-month rental agreements.

However, this concession will not extend to toll and lease agreements. In addition, the Yogi Cabinet made another significant decision in Friday's meeting, where senior citizens will no longer need to apply for the old-age pension. Instead, this amount will be directly transferred to the accounts of citizens aged 60 and above, provided they allow it.

Moreover, the Cabinet approved the transfer of 5.07 hectares of land - excluding 0.53 hectares of disputed land - from the Fisheries Department in Bagpat to the Department of Medical Education for setting up a medical college under the public-private partnership model. During the meeting, amendments were also made to the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Service Rules, allowing for the promotion of 2% of chainmen (assistants to revenue officers) to the position of revenue officer.
