According to a report by Business Today, American Senator Lindsey Graham has openly called for tariffs on India for buying Russian oil, accusing that India's purchase of Russian oil is bolstering Vladimir Putin's war machinery. He claimed that Donald Trump had signed off on a 50% tariff on Indian imports, and an additional 25% tariff is set to be implemented this month on August 27.
Putin Is Intimidated by Trump's Toughness
Lindsey Graham went on to say that it is Trump's tariff threats that have compelled Russian President Putin to consider meeting the US President in Alaska. He claimed that Putin's arrival in Alaska is solely because President Trump announced the 50% tariff on India's purchase of Russian oil and gas. He stated that Putin is intimidated by this.

The Senator Questions Europe
Trump's close ally, Republican Senator, did not stop there and bombarded Europe with a barrage of questions. He said, 'Why doesn't Europe impose tariffs on India for buying Russian oil? As the largest buyer of Russian Crude Oil, why don't you threaten China with tariffs?’ Note that the American Senator's remarks are a critique of India's deep energy ties with Russia since the start of the Ukraine war.
He argued that 'Nearly all of Russia's income comes from the sale of oil and gas, which is also its greatest weakness. If we tell Russia's customers to choose between the American economy and cheap Russian oil or gas, they will choose the US Economy.'
Graham Asserts- Only Trump Can End the War
Senator Graham said he believes that Donald Trump is the only person on Earth who can end this Russia-Ukraine war. Using the example of the 30-year war between Azerbaijan and Armenia, he noted that Trump ended it too. He added that Trump is ready to exert all his power, and if the war does not end righteously and honorably, the Russian Economy could be devastated.
According to Graham, when President Trump said he would sell weapons to Ukraine through Europe, Putin was rattled. The Senator stated that if we tell Russia, 'End the war, or your fossil fuel-dependent economy will be destroyed,' the war will end. We can do this together with Europe.
