He opted for a black blazer. Previously, the White House had inquired whether the Ukrainian president planned to wear a suit during his meeting with Trump in the Oval Office.

During his visit to the White House in February, Zelensky's attire became a topic of controversy, which American officials later described as a diplomatic oversight. At a joint press conference, a reporter questioned Zelensky, 'Why don't you wear a suit? As the head of your nation, you still refuse to wear one. Do you even own a suit? Many Americans are displeased by your apparent disregard for the presidential office's dignity.'

In response to the controversy regarding his attire, President Volodymyr Zelensky humorously remarked that he would don a suit once the war concludes. Trump accused Zelensky of paving the way for World War III, stating, 'President Zelensky, you're playing with millions of lives. Your country is in peril, and you fail to comprehend. Eventually, you'll have to negotiate with Russia.'

Countering these claims, Zelensky stated, 'We don't need another ceasefire; Putin has violated ceasefires 25 times before.' Trump accused Zelensky of disrespecting the United States in the prestigious Oval Office. He announced that the Ukrainian president could only return to the White House if he was ready for peace talks.
