Following the attack on Israel by Iran, a significant statement from US President Joe Biden emerged. He informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the United States would not take part in any retaliatory strikes against Iran. It's important to note that Iran launched hundreds of drones and missiles at Israel. This attack was in response to a suspected Israeli attack on their embassy in Damascus on April 1st.

In the wake of the Iranian attack, Biden stated his conversation with Netanyahu highlighted that Israel has shown excellent capabilities of defending against and overwhelming unprecedented attacks. National Security Spokesperson John Kirby from the White House said the United States will continue to assist Israel in its defense, but does not desire a war with Iran.

Asked if the US would support Israeli retaliation efforts in Iran, Kirby reaffirmed the US’s commitment to Israel’s defense. 'As President Biden has repeatedly said, we do not want a broader conflict in the region. We do not want war with Iran. We're looking to de-escalate the situation and avoid any major conflict,' Kirby stated.
