During the ongoing winter session of Parliament on Monday, there was a fierce commotion in the Rajya Sabha over the 'Modi teri...' slogan. As proceedings began, members of the ruling party raised the issue of slogans directed at PM Modi during the rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan the previous day. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju called on the opposition to apologize. Meanwhile, Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, JP Nadda, remarked that such slogans reflect the mindset of the Congress party.

JP Nadda stated that slogans like 'Modi teri...' and wishing for PM Modi's demise are deplorable. He insisted that Sonia Gandhi should apologize to the nation for this. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also demanded apologies from opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in the Lok Sabha, alleging that some Congress workers threatened the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a press conference, Kiren Rijiju condemned the threats made by some Congress workers during the Delhi rally, describing it as an unfortunate and tragic event in Indian democracy. He asserted that both Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi should apologize from the floor of the House for the threats made against the Prime Minister by Congress workers. It is deeply regrettable and alarming that Congress members openly discussed digging PM Modi's grave.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister emphasized that Congress and BJP workers and leaders are political rivals, not enemies. Despite differing ideologies, they collaborate towards a developed India as envisioned by PM Modi. He highlighted that political leaders often exchange good wishes and critique each other in various ways on public platforms. Rijiju stated that while differing opinions are expressed, the idea of harming one another is never entertained, nor are such notions voiced.

Attacking the opposition, he questioned the mentality and tradition where individuals issue public threats against political opponents' lives. Rijiju stressed that Narendra Modi serves as the Prime Minister of 1.4 billion people. The world respects Prime Minister Modi, the whole of India respects him, but it is deeply saddening if some from the opposition threaten his life. He underlined that condemnation alone is insufficient.

Priyanka Gandhi Remarks: It Didn't Happen on Stage

Amidst the parliamentary clash over slogans about PM Modi, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi stated that nothing of the sort occurred on stage. She mentioned that they were discussing amongst themselves about who claimed such things, as they were unaware. Later, it was revealed that someone from the public had given an interview. Priyanka Gandhi pointed out that someone in the public was making claims. Whether it was a party worker or someone else, nobody knows. Criticizing the ruling party, she accused them of raising these issues during zero hour rather than engaging in a discussion.
