UP: Thieves Flee After Attempted Theft at Retired Judge's House, One Dies in Pond

In UP’s Kaushambi district, near the Pahinsa police station, a thief fleeing after a robbery at a retired judge's house drowned in a pond. Following the incident, the police have started an investigation, and locals have handed over another thief to the police.

Just steps away from the Pahinsa police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district, a shocking robbery took place at a retired judge’s home. On Tuesday night, four thieves intruded and rummaged through all belongings. Judge Suresh Chandra, along with his family, has been residing in Lucknow for quite some time. Amit Kumar, a nearby resident, sensed something suspicious and alerted the villagers.

As the villagers arrived, the thieves attempted to flee. Among them, Gufran Ahmed was caught by the villagers and handed over to the police, while the others managed to escape. The police detained Gufran, filed a case against him, and sent him to jail, initiating an investigation.

Attempted Robbery at Retired Judge's Home

Meanwhile, the lifeless body of another thief, Arbaaz, was found floating in a nearby pond, spreading a wave of shock through the area. It is reported that Arbaaz jumped into the pond in an attempt to escape and could not get out due to the darkness, leading to his death. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and informed the deceased's family of the incident.

Villagers Captured One Thief, Another Drowned in Pond

Regarding the incident, SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava stated that four thieves had broken into a home in the Pahinsa police station area intending to rob. The villagers caught one thief and handed him over to the police, while another drowned in the pond during their escape. The search for the other fugitive thieves continues.
