Newly appointed 60,244 constables in Uttar Pradesh Police received essential social media usage guidelines. The directive emphasizes avoiding unauthorized posts. ADG Law & Order has instructed all SP, SSP, and police commissioners in various districts regarding this matter.
Upon receiving their appointment letters, several young recruits began posting various content on social media, with some even uploading training videos. Consequently, the department has issued specific instructions regarding the creation of training-related videos, ensuring compliance with departmental rules, conditions, and confidentiality policies.
Notably, with over 60,000 new constables recruited, the Uttar Pradesh Police force is set to receive fresh vigor. However, a new trend emerged with reels created by newly recruited constables becoming viral on platforms like Instagram and Facebook. With users raising concerns, the department swiftly released a 'guideline' mandating new recruits to adhere strictly to rules and discipline when using social media. They will also undergo social media training soon.
It should be noted that on June 15th in Lucknow, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to 60,244 candidates, including over 12,000 women. Amit Shah congratulated CM Yogi, stating that the new recruitment would strengthen the state's security and law enforcement.
