During the meeting, NSA Ajit Doval stressed the importance of combating all forms of terrorism to ensure regional peace and stability. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that both sides reviewed recent developments in India-China relations and highlighted the necessity of promoting holistic development, including increasing people-to-people engagement.

According to Chinese envoy Zhu Feihong, Wang remarked that some positive progress has been made in China-India relations, and it is crucial for both sides to enhance communication, build mutual trust, and work towards resolving practical issues.

The foreign ministry stated that Doval and Wang also exchanged views on other bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest. It mentioned, "The NSA expressed eagerness to meet Wang Yi in India for the 24th round of the Special Representative (SR) talks on a mutually convenient date."

China is hosting the SCO conference in its capacity as the group's current president.
