The principal suspect in the UP Police constable recruitment exam paper leak (UP Police Paper Leak) has been arrested. The UP STF (Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force) of the Noida unit captured Rajeev Nayan Mishra in connection with the incident. Reports suggest that Mishra has a history of facilitating leaks for various major examinations, for which he has also previously served time in jail. The UP Police and STF have been conducting raids for several days in pursuit of him.
It's worth noting that about 48 million aspirants tried their luck at the UP Police constable recruitment examination, which had to be canceled due to the leak. Since the exam's cancellation, police have been diligently tracking down and arresting the culprits involved. More than 300 suspects have been apprehended in relation to the case so far.

How did the leak happen?
According to information received, the constable recruitment exam paper leak originates from the printing press. As soon as the papers left the press and reached the transportation company, the leak was executed. The scheme to leak the papers had been meticulously planned in advance.

Recruitment drive for over 60,000 posts
On the 17th and 18th of February, the constable recruitment examination was conducted across Uttar Pradesh. The recruitment was for more than 60,000 positions. The exams took place on a large scale across various districts in UP, attracting hopefuls not just from the state but also from neighboring regions such as Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Bihar. However, the examination papers had already been leaked beforehand.
Subsequent to the leak, numerous videos and photos began circulating on social media, prompting an investigation by the recruitment board. The UP government ultimately canceled the constable recruitment examination and charged the UP STF with the inquiry. Following the leak, Renuka Mishra, the DG of Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, was relieved of her duties.

Recently, UP's DGP Prashant Kumar revealed that Rajeev Nayan has been implicated in leaks of several competitive exams prior. He was also connected to the recent leak of the RO/ARO exam papers. DGP informed that in the UP constable paper leak case, a total of 396 people have been arrested to date, 54 of whom were apprehended by the UP STF.
