The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) has recently achieved a significant breakthrough in the UP Police constable recruitment exam paper leak case. Two individuals have been nabbed in Lucknow for their involvement in this recruitment scam. During interrogation, the captured suspects have confessed to their roles in leaking the papers and have provided further details on the operation’s inner workings.
In a detailed account, the police constable exam paper was indeed leaked and UP STF teams have been rigorously pursuing leads. Following a tip-off, STF pinpointed the location of the suspects, Ajay Kumar and Sonu Yadav, and swiftly apprehended them. Both have now admitted their involvement in the paper leak during their custody.
Ajay Kumar and Sonu Yadav recounted to the STF how, driven by the temptation of easy money, they sold the recruitment examination papers to prospective candidates. They revealed that they had acquired the exam papers and answer keys well before the day of the test, intent on profiting from the leak.
How did they obtain the exam papers? The arrested suspects reveal the source
Upon their capture, the suspects disclosed to the UP STF the identity of the person who provided them with the papers. During questioning, they named Rajan Yadav, who was in direct contact with the paper leaking gang. Rajan had, before the recruitment exam, given them the papers and answer keys with instructions to sell them onwards. The UPSTF has now intensified the search for Rajan Yadav.
Another suspect was previously arrested on Friday in Muzaffarnagar
Prior to these developments, UP STF's rapid actions resulted in the arrest of Praveen alias Mintu Baliyan from Muzaffarnagar, who was associated with the paper leak syndicate in Western Uttar Pradesh. Following this, on Saturday, two more individuals linked to another network responsible for leaking the papers were apprehended in Lucknow.

Two lakh rupees taken on the pretext of passing the exam
According to the police, the suspect Praveen alias Mintu Baliyan, along with his cohorts, had taken two lakh rupees from a resident of Ibrahimpur, Janpad Baghpat - Indra Pratap Singh, promising to clear the constable recruitment examination. However, as the job was left unaccomplished, Indra Pratap Singh filed a complaint against these individuals at the Shahpur police station.
The police continue to detain suspects in the paper leak case
It was revealed that on February 28th, SOG, Surveillance Cell, STF Unit Gorakhpur, and the local police apprehended four wanted suspects involved in leaking the examination paper. Even though the UP government had cancelled the recruitment exam, the crackdown on 'Munna Bhai’ (a colloquial term for imposters in exams) continues. Raids are ongoing in many districts of the state, with the network believed to be spanning as far as West Bengal.
