In the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, an extensive marriage scam has been revealed by police in Sambhal. This operation spun a deceptive web of matrimonial promises, ensnaring unsuspecting individuals. Police have apprehended three suspects, including two women from West Bengal, under accusations of orchestrating this scam. Their modus operandi involved creating false identities to trap grooms.

SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi of Sambhal disclosed this alarming scam, noting the success of Chandausi police in capturing the culprits: Noor Jahan Khatun, alias Kajal, and Aysha Khatun, alias Pooja, residents of West Bengal. Rajeev, from Badaun district, a key syndicate player, was also caught.

Investigations reveal that the gang operated with calculated precision, spotting unmarried men struggling to find partners. Rajeev and Noor Jahan lured them with offers ranging from 50,000 to 75,000 rupees. After settling a deal, they fabricated Hindu-named Aadhaar cards for women brought from Bengal.

Weddings were conducted in a temple, but the real plot unfolded 5-6 days post-wedding when the brides seized the opportunity to disappear with the household wealth. The scam unraveled when villagers in Patraua noticed Ayesha, posing as Pooja, attempting to flee with valuables, prompting a police alert.

Upon interrogation, Ayesha confessed to this widespread deceit, revealing her existing marriage and two children in Bengal. Further interrogation exposed the gang's success in conducting at least four sham marriages in Sambhal and Moradabad.
