Known as the arch-rival of Dawood Ibrahim, the latest photograph of imprisoned underworld don Chhota Rajan has just surfaced. This is the first image that has come to light since his capture by Indian intelligence agencies in 2015.

However, the photographs we see today are from the year 2020, discrediting rumors of his death from COVID-19. One of the photos is from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi, while the other is from an ambulance van.

Currently, Chhota Rajan is sealed away in cell number 2 of the high-security Tihar Jail in Delhi, which is also known to house the city's Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal.

The notorious Chhota Rajan was once within the inner circle of the most-wanted underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim but became a bitter rival after the 1993 bomb blasts. The feud between Chhota Rajan and Dawood has led to numerous killings in Mumbai, Dubai, and Nepal. Dawood's key aide, Chhota Shakeel, is still looking for an opportunity to strike against Rajan.

On how Chhota Rajan was nabbed, he was arrested on October 25, 2015, in Bali, Indonesia. A mere phone call led to the downfall of the notorious don, who normally communicated via voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP). On October 24, 2015, Rajan made a WhatsApp call to a well-wisher, which was intercepted by security agencies. He voiced concerns about his safety in Australia and hinted at leaving soon, alerting the authorities. The Australian Federal Police were tipped off that an individual of Indian descent was traveling to Bali. Upon his arrival, he was promptly apprehended at the airport.

Post-arrest, Chhota Rajan made confessions about the lurking danger he faced from the 'D Company' – Dawood's gang. The extradition treaty between India and Indonesia facilitated his transfer to India with ease. It is suggested that Chhota Rajan wanted to return to India himself due to the threat from D Company. Credit for his repatriation goes to the CBI, the Intelligence Unit, and the Mumbai Crime Branch. Chhota Rajan was flown to Delhi on November 6, 2015, under strict security and kissed the Indian soil as soon as he disembarked.
