The election dates for Bihar's assembly elections are yet to be announced, but a political storm has erupted over the comparison of Bihar to a beedi. On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Purnia, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects valued at approximately ₹40,000 crores, including those related to railways, airports, electricity, and water supply. Additionally, over 40,000 beneficiaries received permanent homes through the PM Awas Yojna.
Addressing a public gathering at Shishabari SSB Ground, PM Modi targeted Congress and other opposition parties. He claimed that the opposition compares Bihar to a beedi due to their disdain for the state. The Congress party, an ally of RJD, has been portrayed on social media likening Bihar to a beedi. These parties have tarnished Bihar's reputation through scams and corruption.
PM Modi condemned the opposition's criticism as derogatory to Bihar and its people. He appealed to the public to understand the development agenda and take the right decision through their votes.
