It should be noted that Umar was brought in during the night by Ghazipur police and presented today, Monday, August 4th, to the media at the police line. He was transported in a Vajra vehicle to the police line, where SP Ghazipur briefly presented him to the media. SP stated that Umar is accused of using fake signatures of his fugitive mother, Afsa Ansari, who also has a bounty of 50,000 rupees on her head, to appeal in Ghazipur’s MP-MLA Court for the release of the confiscated property.
Attempt to Reclaim Seized Property with Fake Documents
Upon suspicion, when Afsa Ansari’s signatures were compared with old documents, the forgery was revealed. According to the police press release, the entire case is linked to a high-value commercial property in the Kotwali area, which was confiscated under the Gangster Act, section 14(1), on the District Magistrate’s orders. In March 2025, the MP-MLA Court also upheld this action as legitimate. The appeal against this was filed using fake signatures of the fugitive, Afsa Ansari, and all these documents were submitted to the court by Umar Ansari and Liaqat Ali.
