An incident of students being asked to recite the Kalma has emerged from a private school in Udham Singh Nagar. The viral video of this incident stirred a protest from Hindu organizations. Following this, the Department of Education swiftly stepped in to take action against the school. The video is rapidly circulating on social media.
The viral video hails from a private school in Sultanpur Patti, Udham Singh Nagar (renamed Kaushalyapuri). During morning prayers, children were instructed to recite the Kalma, which can be seen in the video. As soon as the video surfaced, Hindu organizations fiercely protested, demanding action against the school's administration through an official memorandum given to the SDM.
The video depicted some students articulating Arabic words, which raised objections from Hindu organizations. They claimed that young Hindu students were being forced to recite the Kalma against their will.

Principal Girish Chandra Saini of the school revealed that the institution has 110 Hindu and 80 Muslim students. Over the past year, students were led to recite Kalma during prayer time, but this practice ceased once the video went viral. The principal acknowledged the mistake in enforcing Kalma recitation.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad's Gau Raksha Department's state minister, Yashpal Rajhans, confirmed that after the video gained attention, a letter was sent to the Chief Minister through SDM Bajpur. The video accuses the school of wrongfully making innocent children recite Kalma.
Chief District Education Officer PS Rawat stated that upon becoming aware of the situation, an investigation was carried out. It was revealed that the school's location has a higher Muslim population, yet Hindu students are present as well. The act of reciting Kalma is against educational policy, and as such, an official notice has been issued to the school with appropriate actions to follow.
