This morning in Hoshiarpur's Dasuya, police went on a raid against drug traffickers. The operation took a violent turn as the traffickers assaulted the officers with sharp weapons, leaving two of them wounded, who were subsequently admitted to the hospital for treatment.

In self-defense, the police retaliated by firing back, which resulted in the death of drug trafficker Sucha Singh. SPD Sarabjit Singh Baiya informed the media that police had confidential intel on Sucha Singh's involvement in trafficking. He was previously implicated in over 10 trafficking cases.

Upon receiving confidential information, police moved to apprehend him at his residence. But Sucha Singh and his family members unleashed a sharp weapon attack on the police team. The clash injured two officers who had to fire in self-defense for their safety.

The counterattack by the police was fatal for the trafficker as Sucha Singh was hit and died on the spot. The police took possession of Singh's body for postmortem and have initiated further proceedings. Senior police officers arrived at the scene following the incident.

Sources reveal Sucha Singh's entire family was involved in the narcotics trade. The police are thoroughly investigating the matter, though no senior official is prepared to make a public statement yet.
