KKR vs RR & RCB vs SRH IPL 2024:

April 15th and 16th of IPL 2024 will be remembered as two of the most thrilling days in cricket history. Spectacular matches took place on both days, resulting in a total of 996 breathtaking runs. Incredible centuries were hit one after the other, as one team set a formidable score only for the other to pursue it fiercely. On April 15th, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a match that collectively scored a whopping 549 runs.

The very next day beheld a clash between KKR and RR that totaled 447 runs. Combining the scores of both matches brings us to the staggering 996 runs. During these matches, several historical records were established, while some were narrowly missed.

Now, let’s dive into the details of what transpired during these encounters. Starting with the match on April 15th. It was the 30th match of this IPL season. RCB and SRH faced each other in a record-breaking game where RCB posted a score of 262/7 chasing SRH's formidable 287/3.

This aggregate score of 549 runs was unprecedented in any IPL match before, and also marked the highest in any T20 match thus far. Previously, during this IPL season on March 27th, the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians managed a combined score of 523 runs where Hyderabad notched up 277/3 and Mumbai Indians ended their chase at 246/5.

Rajasthan repeats history with the highest run chase on April 16

Rajasthan Royals have a history of recording the highest runs chased in the IPL, and they matched their own achievement on April 16th against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. In previous years, the Royals had conquered Punjab Kings' 223/2 with a chase that reached 226. Four years later, against KKR’s target of 224 runs, Rajasthan clinched the win with two wickets to spare.

In this thrilling match, Sunil Narine of KKR played a stormy inning scoring 109 off 56 balls, featuring 13 fours and 6 sixes. KKR's effort of 223/6 was just short of Rajasthan's chase of 224/8, crowned by 'Player of the Match' Jos Buttler’s sensational 107 off 60 balls, who secured victory for Rajasthan on the final ball.
