In response to the case involving the death of three Bangladeshi nationals in Tripura, the Indian government has spoken. These individuals were accused of killing a resident in Tripura. The Indian government has labeled the Bangladeshis as smugglers.
Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, stated that on October 15, an incident occurred in Tripura that resulted in the deaths of three Bangladeshi smugglers. These individuals were reportedly attempting to rustle cattle after illegally crossing the international border. They allegedly attacked local villagers with iron rods and knives, resulting in the death of one individual. The villagers retaliated against the attackers.
Bangladesh has called for justice for their deceased nationals, urging a fair and transparent investigation. They have expressed strong objections to the illegal crossing of the international border and the subsequent deaths, labeling it a heinous and unacceptable act and accusing it of serious human rights violations.

The Foreign Ministry dismissed Bangladesh's narrative, explaining that the incident occurred three kilometers within the Indian border, where the Bangladeshi men attempted cattle theft in Bidyabil village. When confronted by villagers, they retaliated with sharp weapons. Consequently, the locals defended themselves.
According to spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, two Bangladeshi nationals had died by the time the police arrived on the scene, while one was critically injured. He was hospitalized, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day. The bodies were subsequently handed over to the Bangladeshi authorities.
