A shocking case has emerged from Etawah district in Uttar Pradesh, where a man, overwhelmed by harassment from his wife, committed suicide. His body was found in a room at Jolly Hotel. A video associated with the case surfaced, in which the man stated, 'By the time you see this video, I will be gone. If only there were laws for men, I wouldn't have taken this drastic step. I couldn't bear the mental torture from my wife and in-laws. This is why I'm doing this. Mom and Dad, please forgive me.'

Mohit Worked As an Engineer in a Cement Company

According to reports, Mohit Yadav was a field engineer at a cement company, hailing from Dibiyapur, Auraiya district. After being in a relationship for some time, he married a woman named Priya Yadav. Initially, everything was fine between them. However, things changed when Priya was selected as a primary teacher in Samastipur, Bihar. Influenced by her mother and brother, she began to torment Mohit, pressuring him to transfer property to her name.

What Did the Victim's Brother Say?

After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. The victim's brother, Tarun Pratap, shared that Mohit worked in a cement company in Noida, where Priya also lived. Their relationship began there, leading to marriage after seven years. The marriage was consensual with the families. For the first three months, all was well, but Priya then began the harassment, distancing Mohit from his family and pressuring him to transfer property to her.

Mohit and the family faced threats from the brother-in-law and mother-in-law. Under this pressure, Mohit resorted to suicide. Before dying, he recorded a video late at night and uploaded it as status. SP City Abhay Nath Tripathi reported that a notification was received from Jolly Hotel on Railway Station Road. Mohit Kumar had checked into room number 105 and hadn't emerged. He was found hanging when the room was checked. Initially, it appears as a case of suicide. Investigations are underway, with further actions to be taken post-investigation.
