Early Sunday morning saw a sudden deluge in Dharamkund, Ramban, Jammu-Kashmir, throwing the region into chaos. The flash flood claimed the lives of 3 individuals, left one missing, and damaged numerous homes. Many were trapped indoors, prompting ongoing rescue operations.
Local reports indicate that heavy rainfall led to a water surge in the stream, resulting in the flood. This water inundated Dharamkund village near the Chenab Bridge, causing widespread panic.
100 Homes Swept by Floods
According to reports, floodwaters completely destroyed 100 homes in the village, with partial damage to 25 to 30 more.

Rescue teams continue efforts as many people remain trapped in their homes, having safely evacuated 90 to 100 individuals.

BJP leader and MP Jitendra Singh reported severe overnight rainfall, landslides, and strong winds around Ramban city, Jammu-Kashmir. The national highway is blocked, and sadly, three lives were lost along with substantial property damage.
Singh stated, 'I'm in constant contact with Deputy Commissioner Basir-ul-Haq Choudhary. The district administration deserves commendation for timely and swift actions that saved many precious lives. Financial and other forms of relief are being provided.'
