Tragic Classroom Roof Collapse Claims 4 Lives in Rajasthan

A tragic incident has occurred in Jhalawar, Rajasthan involving schoolchildren. Reports indicate a school's roof has collapsed, resulting in the death of four students and fears of many more trapped. Following the incident, 17 children have been reported injured, with several sustaining serious injuries. In Peepalodi, Manohar Thana, Jhalawar District, the high primary school's roof suddenly gave way, trapping students beneath. Allegedly, around 60 children were present in the classroom, with an estimated twenty-five feared to be caught under the debris.

Concern Expressed by Ashok Gehlot

The state's former Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, stated, "We have received information about injuries to several children and teachers due to the collapse of a government school building in Manohar Thana, Jhalawar. I pray to God for minimal casualties and a swift recovery for the injured."

Investigation to Follow...

The Education Minister of Rajasthan, Madan Dilawar, responded, "We have received distressing news of a tragic incident in a Jhalawar school. It is regrettable, and the children are receiving treatment at the hospital at state expense. A high-level investigation will be conducted to determine how the roof collapsed."

The Minister asserted, "The neglect by the previous Congress government over the past five years left these schools in disrepair. We are systematically restoring and improving educational facilities."

He further commented that several schools in Kota are in similar disrepair, with plaster falling from ceilings as classes continue underneath.

Education Minister Madan Dilawar has pledged that all schools in Rajasthan will undergo reconstruction and be fully repaired.

Rajasthan's Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, remarked on the incident, "The catastrophic tragedy in Peepalodi, Jhalawar, due to the school roof collapse is deeply heartbreaking. Authorities have been directed to ensure adequate medical treatment for the injured children. May the divine rest the departed souls in peace and bestow their families the strength to endure this immense loss."
