A dreadful road accident occurred early Wednesday morning on National Highway-27 in Jalaun, UP. Near Girthan on the Jhansi-Kanpur route, a speeding car collided head-on with a truck. This terrible accident claimed the lives of six family members, leaving two others seriously injured. The chaos that followed led locals to notify police, prompting the immediate arrival of police and ambulance teams. The injured were swiftly taken to Rajkiya Medical College, Orai, while the bodies were sent for postmortem.
According to reports, all deceased and injured belonged to the same family from Eekghara village in Khairighat, Bahraich district. They were on a long 2000 km road trip to Bengaluru in their private car when tragedy struck, claiming six lives. Upon arrival, police used JCB machines and other tools to clear the wreckage from the road and used cutters to free the trapped passengers. After clearing the jam, traffic flow resumed. According to Jalaun police, the injured remain in serious condition, and medical treatment is ongoing, while the deceased have been returned to their family after postmortem procedures.
Ankit, one of the injured, shared that his brother-in-law Brijesh works as a doctor at a private hospital in Bengaluru. When Brijesh suggested a visit, the family embarked on their journey, accompanied by Ankit’s wife Sangeeta and their three-month-old daughter Siddhika. Given the lengthy 2000 km journey, Ankit and Brijesh planned to take turns driving.

In the car were Brijesh, his daughter Maanvi (04), son Kanha (03), Ankit, his wife Sangeeta, daughter Siddhika (03 months), and Preeti. Unfortunately, Brijesh dozed off early in the morning, causing the car to veer off and hit a divider before colliding with a truck. The impact was so severe that its sound could be heard from afar, causing a crowd to gather.
This catastrophic accident claimed the lives of Brijesh, Preeti, Sangeeta, Siddhika, and Vinita instantly. The scene was horrific; rescuers had to cut open the car to rescue trapped individuals. Police later took custody of the bodies for postmortem, while the injured Ankit, Kanha, and Maanvi were rushed to the medical college, where Maanvi sadly succumbed to her injuries.
