A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Basti district, Uttar Pradesh. A cake purchased from a local shop has left a family in mourning. Moments after eating the cake, both a young man and a child fell gravely ill. Tragically, the youth succumbed, while the child fights for his life. The family of the deceased is devastated, and the police have registered an FIR to begin further proceedings.
This heartbreaking event occurred in Mahuadabar village, under Gaur police station. On Saturday evening, Aman Singh, a young villager, bought two cakes for 5 rupees each from a local grocery store. Sadly, the cake became the cause of great sorrow as Aman himself consumed one and offered the other to Omkar, a neighboring toddler.

Just minutes after consuming the cake, both experienced severe stomach pain and began vomiting. Alarmed by their deteriorating condition, family members rushed them to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, 18-year-old Aman Singh could not be saved, while 3-year-old Omkar is in critical condition, receiving care at the district hospital.
Fear grips the village following the incident
The Gaur police, upon receiving the alert, took possession of Aman's body and sent it for post-mortem. They have registered a case under relevant sections. The village is engulfed in fear and sorrow, with residents urging authorities to rigorously inspect the quality of food products sold in local shops to prevent such tragedies in the future.
The DSP, Swarnima Singh, stated that preliminary findings suggest the cake caused the young man's death. Official action will follow post-mortem results. Meanwhile, a team of doctors is monitoring the child's condition closely.
