Dramatic Rescue: Three Young Women Freed from Forced Prostitution in Maharashtra

The Human Trafficking Wing of Pimpri-Chinchwad police has exposed an illegal sex trade in a flat located in Dines Residency, Bavadhan, Pune. The accused, Suryakant Pandit Deore was luring three young women into prostitution with the promise of significant money. The police have rescued the three victims.

In addition, the police have detained the accused Suryakant Deore. According to the police, the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Department received a tip-off that accused Suryakant Pandit Deore was facilitating prostitution on the third floor of Dines Residency within the jurisdiction of Hinjewadi police station.

Police sent decoys to confirm the illicit activities at that location. Once verified, a raid was conducted to rescue the three women ensnared in the web of sex trafficking.

The police are interrogating the three women to understand how they were deceived, their origins, and the duration of their entrapment. It is reported that counseling for the three survivors is also being arranged.

Furthermore, the police have charged the accused Suryakant under sections 3, 4, 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, as well as under section 370(3). The investigation continues to determine the duration of his criminal activities and whether he had coerced other women into prostitution prior to these victims.
