Today, votes are being cast for 199 assembly seats in Rajasthan. While voting proceeded peacefully in most areas, news of violence emerged from Fatehpur Shekhawati. Intense tension erupted between two groups, escalating into a massive stone-pelting incident on election day.

Intense Stone Pelting

For an hour, chaos reigned as the crowd's energy boiled over. Security forces on the scene worked diligently to restore order, and the stone throwers were seen retreating. Voting resumed peacefully shortly after the tension subsided, although stones littered the streets. Some individuals hurled stones from their rooftops, highlighting the incident's intensity. Currently, police and paramilitary forces have been deployed, firmly stabilizing the situation.

Voting on 199 Seats

Please note that voting is underway for the Rajasthan Assembly elections, with 199 out of 200 seats being contested today. Voting on one seat has been suspended due to the passing of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Kunnar.

To ensure a peaceful voting process, a total of 102,290 security personnel have been deployed across Rajasthan. This includes 69,114 police officers, 32,876 Rajasthan Home Guard, Forest Guard, and RAC personnel. Additionally, 700 CAPF companies have been positioned strategically throughout the state.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta announced that 36,101 polling stations have been established across the state. He stated, "A total of 10,501 urban and 41,006 rural polling stations have been organized. Additionally, live webcasting will be conducted from 26,393 polling stations."
