Pune Porsche Mishap:
The blood samples of the accused teenager's mother have been collected for DNA testing. An officer linked to the case explained that the samples are to ascertain if the forensic science laboratory (FSL) tested the woman detained in place of the teenager to confirm alcohol consumption.
Previously, in connection with this series of events, police arrested Dr. Ajay Tavare, the head of forensic medicine at Sassoon Hospital, and Dr. Srihari Halnor, the chief medical officer, along with another employee. They are accused of conspiring with the teen's parents to tamper with and exchange the blood samples to influence alcohol tests.
The teenager's parents were remanded to police custody till June 5 by a local court. Officers from the Crime Branch told PTI that the woman's blood samples were taken on Tuesday and sent to FSL for DNA analysis.
In the interim, a senior officer stated they are urging the appointment of a special prosecutor in the case and striving to file the charge sheet as soon as possible.
The investigators remarked, 'We are recording statements of key witnesses, gathering vital evidence, and digitally reconstructing the accident site for presentation in court. The main focus is on appointing a special prosecutor, swift filing of charge sheets, and ensuring speedy sentencing by referring the case to a fast-track court.'
Charges will be filed in the Juvenile Board against the minor and in a regular court against the parents and arrested doctors. The case will involve the swapping of blood samples and the hostage situation of the driver.
Sources also mentioned that the police might request an extension of the juvenile's stay in the supervision home, which is due to end on June 5, when the initial period expires.
