On the eve of the T20 World Cup match against Namibia, Team India received great news. Star opener Abhishek Sharma has been released from a Delhi hospital following treatment for a stomach ailment. Teammate Tilak Verma confirmed this during a press briefing on the night before India's match against Namibia.
After the team's arrival in Delhi on Sunday, Abhishek was taken to the hospital for examination. Tilak stated, 'When we arrived in Delhi, he went for a scan. Today, he has been discharged and is doing well. However, whether he will play in the match will be decided on Thursday.'
Abhishek Sharma played India's first match against America in Mumbai on February 7, despite being unwell. The opening batsman was dismissed for a duck on the second ball and did not come out to bat as India chased a target of 161 runs.

On Tuesday, Abhishek was also absent from India's training session at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
He did not travel with the team on the eve of the match. On Monday, he left early from a team dinner hosted by Gautam Gambhir, as he wasn't feeling well.
Who Will Replace Abhishek in Delhi?
If Abhishek Sharma is not fit for the match, India might field Sanju Samson in his place. The team management will proceed cautiously before including Abhishek hastily in the playing eleven ahead of the much-anticipated clash against Pakistan on February 15.

However, former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel suggested that India should consider having Washington Sundar open and give him a chance before heading to Colombo, where India might need to play an additional spinner.
Following his rib injury, which kept him out of last month's T20I series against New Zealand, Sundar has joined the Indian team in Delhi after missing the first match in Mumbai. The team management has given him ample time to recover.
